Dr. vet med. Hiltrud Strasser is a veterinarian who, for nearly twenty years, has been studying and researching the causes and cures of lameness and other common health problems of domestic horses.

Using her research she has developed a complete model for the care of horses in a manmade environment which minimises the many health problems currently found in a large percentage of domestic horses. She has based her research on the horses hoof using the profile of the horse hoof found in nature and has had unprecedented success in using these methods, firstly to cure horses with lameness and health issues previously uncurable with traditional methods, and secondly as a preventative technique for trimming horses hooves and maintaining horses for their optimum health and extended lifespan in a manmade environment.

Dr. Strasser is the author of several text books on lameness and healing reference books on natural boarding for horses, and many articles for both horse and veterinary journals.

Dr. Strasser is currently introducing her methods in Australia and New Zealand. She also continues to oversee new groups of hoofcare students in North America, Europe, South Africa, and Britain.

Over the next year Dr. Strasser will be concentrating her North American efforts by doing seminars for veterinarians, and overseeing the training of the new crop of Hoofcare Students. She is also planning to take her techniques to more countries worldwide in an effort to further impact the lives of horses globally.
